Gatherings

Working together for resilient places and thriving economies.

Every year, the Gerana Gathering brings together a carefully curated group of people from business, research, finance, landscape practice and the next generation of changemakers to reimagine landscapes and reinvent business.

How do we work together differently in real places?

The Gathering is intentionally designed as a working space where relationships deepen, ideas are tested and diverse perspectives are brought into conversation.

Through carefully facilitated dialogue, participants learn within and across landscapes, explore complexity together and create the conditions for new partnerships, practical collaboration and collective action to emerge.

Why Gatherings?

Landscape partnerships depend on more than knowledge. They need trust, shared understanding and space to work through complexity together.

The Gathering creates that space.

It offers time to slow down, ask better questions, listen deeply and explore what becomes possible when people across sectors, disciplines and geographies learn from one another - and from place.

2026 Gathering

Kent, England
29–30 September 2026

The 2026 Gathering explores how working landscapes can learn across places and sectors to build resilience.

Convened with Growing Kent & Medway, with support from Niab and UK Research & Innovation (UKRI), it will connect people across sectors, disciplines and geographies.

Together, we will examine how relationships, innovation and collective action can strengthen landscapes - and the communities and economies that depend on them.

Every Gerana Gathering is rooted in place.

In 2026, we gather in Kent: one of the UK’s most productive landscapes, where centuries of farming meet world-leading horticultural research, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Here, one landscape becomes a classroom for many, creating space to learn across sectors, navigate change and build resilience together.

A welcome from Kent

"Every landscape has its own story to tell. Kent's is one of productivity, innovation and continual reinvention. By welcoming perspectives from other landscapes around the world, we have an opportunity not only to showcase what we're doing here, but to discover what we can learn together. We look forward to welcoming you to Kent and to discovering what our landscapes can teach one another."

2025 Gathering

The previous Gerana Gathering brought together 38 participants from across business, finance, research and landscape practice to explore a shared question:

How do we organise money, incentives and relationships so that landscapes - and the systems they sustain - can thrive?

Across two days, participants moved from research and dialogue to landscape studios, intergenerational exchange and practical collaboration, creating the foundations for ongoing work through Gerana's Discovery Labs.

A reflection from the Cotswolds

"Such an inspiring Gathering. I was grateful to share time to listen, reflect and connect with passionate change makers. I'm looking forward to seeing how these landscape journeys evolve and where the work goes next.”
